In this comparison of the Delonghi Dinamica Plus vs Siemens EQ 6, I will point out the pros and cons of each, as well as why I believe the Delonghi Dinamica Plus stands out as the superior choice.
The Delonghi Dinamica Plus really ticks most of the boxes on the list of things a super-automatic coffee machine should do. Listen, it delivers delicious coffee, provides hands-free milk steaming, and offers an extensive range of one-touch drink options, all without requiring a steep learning curve. Even better, this one can be controlled remotely.
The Siemens EQ6 Plus isn’t a perfect bean-to-cup machine, but it’s still a fine choice without deal-breaking flaws. I like that it is equipped with a ceramic burr grinder that never heats up and burns the grounds. It is also very easy to use and beginner-friendly.

Delonghi Dinamica Plus Vs Siemens EQ 6: Differences
The Delonghi Dinamica Plus triumphed over the Siemens EQ 6 Plus with a score of 3-1. Continue scrolling down for more detailed information!
Coffee Flavor & Brewing System
Winner: Delonghi Dinamica Plus
Built-in Grinder
The Dinamica Plus uses a stainless steel conical burr grinder compared to a ceramic burr grinder on the EQ 6 Plus. So they’re ready to roll straight out of the box, no extra stand-alone grinder is needed.
The ceramic grinder is superior to its stainless-steel counterpart in terms of keeping cool when running. Why does it matter? Heat is basically the arch-nemesis of coffee flavor since it can scorch your beans, giving your morning cup that burnt taste nobody’s a fan of.
Still, the EQ 6 Plus only has 5 grind size settings – falls slightly short of the industry norm of six. The Dinamica Plus, on the other hand, is somewhat impressive with 13 grind settings. Only change the grind size and avoid using oil beans unless you’re just inviting trouble.
Heating System
Both feature a single Thermoblock rapid-heating system. I understand if you expected two boilers here, but the single thermoblock performs admirably and heats up so fast. So you don’t have to tap your feet and wait an eternity for the first sip.
Brewing System
It’s good to see both of these machines have a pre-infusion function. If you’re wondering, “Is 15 bars a good thing?” Oh, you bet it is. This step gently soaks the coffee grounds to keep channeling at bay and unlock the maximum aroma of the coffee grounds. Then, their 15-bar pumps create proper pressure for extraction, which is great as well.
Design & Convenience

Dimensions & User Interface
Delonghi Dinamica Plus | Siemens EQ 6 Plus | |
---|---|---|
Dimensions | 9.3 x 14 x 17 inches | 11 x 15.2 x 18.9 inches |
Weight | 20.9 lbs | 21 lbs |
My first impressions of these machines are favorable. They are handsome and feel well-crafted like a lot of thought and care went into their design.
The EQ 6 Plus is a bit heavier and bulkier, but I’m glad to see it incorporate more stainless steel into its build – in fact, it’s made with a mix of stainless steel, brushed aluminum, and some seriously sturdy ABS plastic. As for the Dinamica Plus, it leans heavily on plastic components in its design, a decision likely aimed at reducing manufacturing costs.
Their touchscreens are clear, where you can choose drinks based on the photos and set specific parameters. I bet that in today’s swipe-and-tap world, such screens definitely don’t come with any learning curve.
However, I’m not entirely satisfied with the display of the EQ 6 Plus. My issue isn’t with it being a text screen. Rather, it only shows each setting one at a time for adjustments, which makes the process more time-consuming than necessary. Additionally, the responsiveness of the display is not as quick as I had anticipated.
Spout Type & Cup Clearance
Delonghi Dinamica Plus | Siemens | |
---|---|---|
Spout Type | Dual | Dual |
Cup Clearance | 3.2-5.5 inches | 3.9-6 inches |
It’s no revelation that these machines come equipped with adjustable dispensing spouts, as, after all, this is a feature of most super-automatic coffee machines. The EQ 6’s dispensing unit could have a higher maximum adjustment, but I’d say the Dinamica Plus itself offers enough space for most standard-sized cups your money can buy.
Oh, by the way, the EQ 6 Plus can make two drinks at the same time, whether it’s espresso or a milk-based drink. Meanwhile, the Dinamica Plus, like most super-automatic machines, can only brew two cups of espresso at once.
Water Reservoir & Bean Hopper
Delonghi Dinamica Plus | Siemens EQ 6 Plus | |
---|---|---|
Water Reservoir | 1.8 liter | 1.7 liter |
Bean Hopper | 0.3 kilogram | 0.3 kilogram |
Their side-located water tanks are not really too big for super-automatic machines but not small at all, either. The EQ 6 Plus’s tank is lifted out from the top while the Dinamica Plus’s tank slides in and out at the front of the machine – so the former requires sufficient overhead space for removal and refilling.
Both also come with a water filter, but using it is entirely optional. The primary benefit of utilizing a filter in your machine is the significant reduction, if not elimination, of the need for periodic descaling. Additionally, filtered water can enhance the overall taste of your coffee.
Milk Frothing System
Winner: Delonghi Dinamica Plus
The EQ6 is equipped with an automatic milk frother. Siemens offers a separate stainless-steel milk carafe compatible with the machine, which you can purchase separately, or alternatively, you can use any suitable container you already have at your disposal.
To make a milky drink, just connect one end of the provided hose to the machine and place the other end into your chosen milk container. The process is super easy and intuitive, making it particularly welcoming for newcomers.
The Dinamica Plus is also equipped with an automatic milk frothering system, but the milk carafe is included and is neatly attached to the front of the machine. Personally, I’ve always favored this design because it eliminates the need for extra space for the carafe and spares you the hassle of dealing with pesky tubes.
Both machines excel at producing convincing milk foam suitable for a delicious cappuccino. It’s worth noting that the EQ 6 Plus’s foam can be on the cooler side for some, so it’s advisable to use preheated cups for your drinks. And as always, achieving a delicate, liquid milk foam with a delectable creaminess for a flat white can be a bit challenging with these machines.
Drink Options & Programmability
Winner: Delonghi Dinamica Plus
Drink Options
Delonghi Dinamica Plus | Siemens EQ 6 Plus |
---|---|
Gourmet Espresso Double Espresso Long Coffee Truebrew Over Ice Coffee Pot Doppio+ Cappuccino Latte Macchiato Milk Cappuccino + Cappuccino Mix Caffelatte Flat White Espresso Macchiato Hot Water | Espresso Coffee Cappuccino Latte Macchiato Caffe Latte Milk Froth Warm Milk Hot Water |
The EQ 6 Plus offers a list of 8 one-touch drinks, while the Dinamica Plus breaks out with up to 14 specialty drinks, including both milk foam and hot water. If you’re the type of person who spends your life bonding with one or two drinks, having a wide array of choices readily available can be overkill to you, but it’s nice to always have many options at your fingertips, right?
