Let’s find out the better espresso maker between Delonghi Magnifica S Vs Dinamica. I got these machines not long ago, but after some brewing sessions, I have clearly noticed the final winner: Delonghi Dinamica.
Delonghi Dinamica offers robust espressos, and its milk-based drinks are rich as well. This model has a variable milk system that can froth from creamy steamed milk to dry microfoam. The operation is consistent, and it makes very little noise. I’m also impressed by the short heat-up time and the low price tag. Very recommendable for singles and couples!
Delonghi Magnifica S can deliver the same espresso and milk quality as the machine above. However, I have experienced some problems with the grinder, which is why this model is runner-up.

Delonghi Magnifica S vs Dinamica: Differences
Delonghi Dinamica wins 3-1 in the battle against Delonghi Magnifica S. The former brews tasty espresso and offers tons of delicious milk-based drinks like macchiato, latte, cappuccino, and flat white. It even has a special one-touch for ice coffee. You are going to love what it has to offer.
Coffee Flavor: Delonghi Dinamica
+Grinder
With Dinamica, I have been enjoying brewing coffee and the coffee grinding step has left me a good impression. Firstly, it is quiet. Secondly, it is fast. And thirdly, it is stable. I have always gotten smooth ground with minimum noise in the morning. Trust me, I have checked the used puck every time I brew.
Directly speaking, I am not satisfied with Magnifica S’s grinder. It seems very faulty even though I have only bought the machine for about a few months. At first, it gave smooth and even coffee ground, and I didn’t have to do much. Now, the grinder doesn’t take the beans from the bypass doser with ease. Thus I have to push the beans down manually.
But, I’m not going to say that this is a common problem of the model since I haven’t found any other consumer with the same situation.
My advice is that you don’t use oily beans to avoid ruining the grinder and making bitter coffees.
+Dosing + tamping
Judging from the pucks, both machines do a good job at dosing and tamping automatically. You can change the dose by adjusting the coffee strength, which both models offer. Delonghi Dinamica and Magnifica S tamp the pucks tight as well.
In the container, most of the time, I find them in the same solid form, and this detail tells me that the pressure work and the tamping is decent, which explains why the flavor that both models can deliver is so robust and balanced at the same time.
+Brewing technique
The pair makes great use of the 15 bars pump system to extract espresso. I don’t recommend any machine that uses a lower pump pressure level because that is going to wear off quickly.
With Dinamica and Magnifica S, I don’t have anything to complain about their brewing technique, given that their 15 bars pump system has given me espresso shots with thick crema.
Utilities: Delonghi Dinamica
The thing is that Delonghi Dinamica has one-touch milk-based recipes. At the same time, Magnifica S only offers 4 one-touch buttons, 2 for single espresso and espresso lungo and 2 for double espresso and espresso lungo.
With Delonghi Dinamica, you can make iced coffees, macchiatos, cappuccinos, flat whites, etc. with a touch of button.
Milk system: Tie
With the pair’s carafes, I can make from creamy and moist steamed milk to dry and airy microfoam for cappuccino. I promise you that you will be as surprised as I did when I first made cappuccino with these models. The microfoam is super-impressive, and it is not common even for machines in their price range.
Cleaning & Maintain: Tie
With the auto-purge function, you can trust these machines to keep it clean, so you don’t have to do it frequently.
The first thing that I want to comment is that I like that they cleanse the dispensers automatically when I turn them up or off. This step ensures that each brewing session results in tasty and aromatic coffee. You can avoid the moldy smell and ruining the brewing system.
The second thing that I want to add is that the milk system doesn’t cleanse itself. You will have to do it with the help of Magnifica S and Dinamica. To froth milk, you will use a milk carafe with its own tap that leads milk straight into the mug. On the carafe, there is a dial knob with different options. All you have to do is turn it to cleaning one and the machine should do the rest.
Delonghi Magnifica S vs Dinamica: Similarities
These espresso makers have in common the automatic shut-off function and the same microfoam texture. Check them out below.
Automatic shut-off function
Delonghi Magnifica S and Dinamica both have auto shut-off features that turn themselves off after about 15 minutes of no use. I’m impressed since many manufacturers ignore the importance of auto shut-off. It helps save energy and prolongs the lifespan of the products.
Microfoam
To be honest, I would recommend these models for commercial purposes if it weren’t for their small water tank. These espresso machines deliver high-quality microfoam which we expect from cappuccino or latte macchiato. I don’t doubt for a second that you are going to love the foam.
Quick Rundown Of Delonghi Dinamica
- Note: 1)Too coarse a grind, too little coffee, or insufficiently tamping the grounds before brewing can all lead to inadequate pressure for a proper brew. 2)It is important to note that the amount of espresso extracted will vary depending on the grind size and amount and reprogramming may be needed when the size and amount are adjusted
